Marinara / Tomato Sauce

Marinara sauce is an Italian tomato sauce, usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. This simple, delicious and versatile sauce can be used as a base to many of your dishes. Do make a batch and store it for a multitude of uses.

  1. Chopped tomatoes - 1 cup

  2. Chopped onion - 1/4 cup

  3. Olive Oil - 1 tbsp

  4. Garlic - 1 clove

  5. Dried Basil Leaves - 1 tbsp

  6. Dried Oregano - 1 tsp

  7. Pepper - to taste

  8. Salt to taste

Method of Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, add olive oil. Once hot, add onion and garlic and saute. Make sure it doesn't burn.

  2. Add tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Bring to boil and continue to boil 5 minutes or until most of the liquid evaporates. Remove from heat and store in glass jar.
