Keto Thin Crust Pizza with a Vegan Base

I LOVE Thin Crust Pizza! I mean I really REALLY Love it! In the Keto diet, this was one thing that I missed the most. I tried the fathead pizza. But it was a little eggy for my taste. This pizza base has been modified from our bread recipe and is completely vegan!

It's crispy, crunchy and an absolute delight to bite into.


Nutrition Information of Key Ingredients

Pizza Base

Pizza toppings and entire pizza

Serving Size - 1 Pizza

Prep Time: 15 mins Bake Time: 7 to 8 mins


For Base:

  1. Almond Flour - 1/4 cup

  2. Flax Meal - 1 tsp

  3. Water - 1 tbsp

  4. Salt - 1/2 tsp or to taste

  5. Olive Oil - 1 tsp

  6. Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp

Pizza Toppings

  1. Marinara Sauce - 1 tsp

  2. Broccoli - 50g

  3. Mushroom - 2, chopped

  4. Bell Pepper - 25g

  5. Dried Oregano - to taste (optional)

  6. Mozzarella Cheese - 1/4 cup

Method of Preparation

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 400F (200C).

  2. In a bowl, mix flax meal and water and set aside for 15 minutes. This will become jelly like. This is a flax egg that will go into the base of the Pizza.

  3. In a separate bowl, add almond flour, salt, olive oil, baking powder and flax egg. Knead well to form a dough.

  4. Pat onto a parchment paper to form a thin crust pizza base.

  5. Bake for 4 to 5 min, until the crust has baked.

  6. Spread marinara sauce onto base.

  7. Add all veggie and cheese toppings.
